Thanks for the comment. Podiatrists are one of the medical providers who commonly prescribe foot orthotics. In the United States and in many other countries, patients do have direct access to physical therapists who are skilled at prescribing foot orthotics as well.
For a foot orthotic that is about as custom as you can get, without the custom orthotic expense look at the QuadraStep system (www.whatsmyfoottype.com).

Great Post! If our gait is causing us problems, a medical professional such a Podiatrist can make or prescribe orthotics that go inside our footwear to correct common foot problems. Our feet need to be stable enough to take all of our bodyweight, then be flexible enough to adapt to the ground, and then become rigid enough to push us forward again, all of this in less than a second. This is an excellent service that you offer!
